20-year-old Daquan Watts appeared in Providence District Court Thursday morning where he was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ryan Almieda on Christmas Eve last year.

Almieda was shot around 5 a.m. when he was dropped off at his mother's housing complex in Galego Court. Police say the shooting occured as retailiation for another shooting.

Last Friday, a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with first degree murder and conspiracy in the crime. His name is being withheld due to his juvenile status.

Police say the two men went to Almieda's mother's home with the intention to kill him.
