Several special events are planned to honor the victims and the heroes of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. The solemn ceremonies will take place in the heart of the city on Boylston Street.

The tribute, which begins at noon, will honor those affected by last year's events. There will be special remembrances for the victims- Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu and Sean Collier. Survivors will also take the stage at the Hynes Convention Center to share their thoughts on the first anniversary of the tragedy at the finish line.

City and state leaders, including the Governor and Mayors- past and current- will also give their reflections. Vice President Joe Biden is also scheduled to attend.

There will be a moment of silence held at 2:49 PM- the time the first of two bombs went off. Fittingly, that portion of the tribute will take place at the finish line..

*For those planning to attend note that the city has issued a no-stopping policy on several roads starting Tuesday morning and running through 4 PM. Impacted roadways include: Boylston St., Huntington Ave, Dartmouth St., Exeter St., Fairfield St., Gloucester St., Glagden St., and Cambria St.
