Man charged with DUI in fire hydrant crash

The man responsible for a car crash that send a fire hydrant sailing through a business window is being charged with DUI. Peter Gloody, 37, was arrested by Tiverton police.

A fire hydrant went crashing through a Tiverton business on Wednesday just before noon.

A car struck the hydrant outside of the China Gourmet on Main Street causing it to go crashing through the window and into the restaurant.

No one was injured during the incident.
