Bryant University is asking students not to selfies with the University President at graduation.

While the University is encouraging social media use before and after the ceremony, the school is asking students not to take selfies as they are receiving their diploma from President Machtley or has they pass under the Archway where their professional photos will be taken.

"We think the grad's family would prefer a serious photo of this milestone on the mantle rather than a "selfie" type pose. We were just making the grads aware of the fact that they could ruin their professional photos as it is taken in a split second," said Sheila Guay the Director of Conferences and Special Events.

The school is encouraging the use of social media up until the commencement ceremony and after the ceremony. In fact, Bryant University has actually has set up a "tag board" using #bryantgrad2014.
