A routine traffic stop in Providence ended in the arrest of 3 people Friday night.

Rhode Island State Police Troopers pulled over a car for a seatbelt violation on Branch Avenue around 10:40 Friday night.

Troopers smelled marijuana inside the vehicle, and after a search, found a black Smith and Wesson .32 caliber revolver, fully loaded, and a bag of marijuana. They also seized a loaded Cobra .380 caliber handgun.

The driver, 24-year-old Medina Goncalves, and two passengers were arrested. One passenger, 20-year-old Victor Hernandez, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, carrying a firearm without a permit, and other gun charges.

A juvenile passenger was also charged with carrying a firearm without a permit.
