A Providence man says his disabled nephew’s $7,000 dollar specialized tricycle has been stolen from their home on Tanner street.

It went missing on Monday; the 13-year old had been hospitalized at Boston children’s hospital for the past three years suffering from water on the brain.

The specialized tricycle with a handicap seat, rear basket and special pedals made for the teen was donated by the Hasbro children’s hospital.

A family member tells ABC 6 News that the teen’s uncle had taken the tricycle out of the garage to clean it; the family was hoping the teen could get a jump start in gaining his strength back by riding the tricycle this summer for the first time.

ABC 6 News will bring you the latest information as it becomes available.
