A $7,000 dollar specialized tricycle that went missing in Providence last week, was found Monday at Roger Williams Park.

The bike is a specialized tricycle with a handicap seat, rear basket and special pedals made for the teen was donated by the Hasbro Children’s Hospital, for 17-year-old Wayne Thompson. Thompson had been hospitalized at Boston Children’s Hospital for the past three years suffering from water on the brain.

A family member told ABC 6 the tricycle was stripped of all the parts that allow Thompson to ride it, rendering it all but useless to him.

The teen’s uncle had taken the tricycle out of the garage to clean it; the family was hoping the teen could get a jump start in gaining his strength back by riding the tricycle this summer for the first time.

A gofundme account has been established to raise money for a new bike. It already has over $5,000 raised. This a link to that account: http://www.gofundme.com/8o49xo
