PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ The Rhode Island House Oversight Committee has asked former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling to testify in its review of the failed 38 Studios deal.

Chairwoman Karen MacBeth said Wednesday that letters have also been sent to ex-Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Keith Stokes and his then-deputy, Michael Saul; former Finance Committee Chairman Steven Costantino; and attorney Michael Corso.

The committee has been looking into the EDC's approval of a $75 million loan guarantee for the 38 Studios video game company, which later went bankrupt.

The agency is suing Schilling and others over the startup's collapse.

Committee members have said they also want to hear from former Gov. Don Carcieri and ex-Speaker Gordon Fox, but they haven't yet been asked to appear.

A message was left with Schilling's attorney.
