Rhode Island State Police have released the name of the suspect in today's wild chase.

Michael Ebiwa, 26, of 104 Sayles Street in Woonsocket was arrested after he crashed a stolen vehicle in Cumberland this afternoon.

State police say Ebiwa is being charged with a multitude of charges including: Carrying a pistol without a license, leaving the scene of an accident, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and reckless driving. More charges could be pending.

Ebiwa allegedly was involved in a home invasion in Woonsocket Thursday afternoon and led police Woonsocket and Lincoln to Providence before he crashed his vehicle on Malbone Street.

The suspect then fled on foot, approached a nearby vehicle and forced the driver from the car. During this struggle, witnesses say the victim was shot in the foot.

Ebiwa then took off in the stolen vehicle. He was later apprehended in Cumberland near the Mendon Road and George Washington, where he crashed the vehicle.

State Police plan to hold a press conference at 10:15 tomorrow at headquarter.
