Cranston Police have arrested a Warren man for hitting an officer with his car.

Police helped escort 27-year-old Ralph Delullo out of Mardi Gras Multi Club on Oaklawn Avenue around midnight Saturday morning.

When he got into his car, that’s when police say he took off, hitting one of the officers.

That officer was thrown over the hood of the car, landing in the road. Delullo fled the scene, but was later stopped by Warwick Police near the airport. Delullo was arrested and charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to prison, not exceeding 20 years.

The officer who was hit did not suffer any injuries.
