The Providence man accused of stabbing a 41-year-old Central Falls woman to death on Mother's Day was ordered held without bail.

Police say they responded to 149 Valley Street just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday for a disturbance. Inside, they found the body of Shelina Moreino. She had been stabbed several times. Prosecutors say Robert Bethea, 45, who called 911 saying he had just stabbed his wife.

Officers arrested Bethea, who was still in the apartment when police arrived. They charged him with domestic murder and for violating a no contact order. Prosecutors say that order had been issued back in January after another assault.

ABC6 News has learned Bethea and Meoreino's 8 year old daughter was in the house at the time of the attack. Neighbors say she is now staying with family.

Bethea was held with out bail and is due back in court on May 27th for a bail hearing.

The State Medical examiners office is performing an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
