18–year–old Jonathan Reed of Fall River was driving behind his brother on their way to go fishing Monday night when he lost control of his car on Bay Road in Easton and hit a tree.

The Somerset Berkley Regional High School grad was pronounced dead at the scene.

"He literally is going to be missed greatly,” said one of Reed’s friends, Lauren Motta. “It's going to be a big burden, a big pain on our chest."

Reed was the youngest of six siblings.

His brother, who was driving in front of him when he crashed, didn't want to go on camera, but told ABC 6 News that Jonathan was extremely generous with the biggest heart you've ever seen. Friends say Reed was extremely upbeat.

"He just had that positive attitude regardless of the situation, he was always laughing, goofing off, always willing to go fishing... he loved fishing,” said Motta.

Reed’s brother says he had joined the Army and was planning on going back.

Police are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. They are looking into whether speed was a factor.
