PROVIDENCE, RI- New England Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman shared one of his other passions with a young patient at Hasbro Children's Hospital during a visit to lift kids’ spirits.

"It's just a great experience to help them stop thinking about something that they're dealing with for a little bit," said Edelman.

He signed autographs and hugged children having a hard time in life right now.

Two-year old Jade's mother, Joanelle Wilcox says she had no idea Edelman was coming. Jade gave him a hug.

"She has a heart condition she was born with. She actually slipped, I found her in a coma. She was in a coma for about 24–hours."

Chad Mello has been in and out of the hospital since April, recovering from a torn pancreas he got during a baseball collision with another player.

"I know I missed Taylor Swift, but I got him and that was pretty cool."

Edelman signed his baseball.

Mello is referring to last month, when singer, Taylor swift visited Hasbro and sang for some of the kids.

But it was 10–year-old Thomas Harrington who made a special connection with Edelman when he showed him one of his videos. Turns out, they both enjoy video making as a hobby.

"I don't even know what a touchdown means," said Harrington.

Harrington is battling a rare form of cancer.

It was Edelman's first visit to Hasbro, one he won't forget.

"Going over here, meeting my little buddy Thomas over here; he wasn't a big football fan but he was a nice little movie maker. It was kind of cool to see a young kid editing his own programs on his Ipad and all that stuff so it was cool," said Edelman.

On Wednesday, for every iced coffee bought at Dunkin Donuts, 50–cents will go to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
