It's never too early, to try to live your dreams. Dozens of young ladies learned that lesson this weekend.

It was the annual "Royal Tea Party" sponsored by the Miss Rhode Island organization.
Every year, each of the older pageant contestants pair–up with a young girl who is given the title, "Princess." This year's event was held at "Simmer Salon and Day Spa" in East Greenwich. The goal is to get the young women - to mentor the young girls - and do community service,

"And part of the Miss America organization – it's about women leadership and women empowerment. So starting them at this young age, knowing that with the crown, they can do something in their community – as well as making a change – is such a wonderful cause," said Miss Rhode Island 2013 Jessica Marfeo, a URI student from Exeter.

This year's Miss Rhode Island pageant is June 14th at Rhode Island College.
The winner will compete in the Miss America Pageant - seen only on ABC6 - this September 14th from Atlantic City.
