Shooting in New Bedford

Police are investigating shots fired in New Bedford around 9:20 pm Wednesday night in the area of Locust and Homer Streets. 

The police arrived to find the extent of the damage to be a cracked windshield of a Volkswagen Jetta. 

Later, around 11:55 pm, a 20-year-old New Bedford man arrived to the hospital with a gunshot wound in his elbow.

He admitted to being in the area when he heard shots being fired and fled on foot making his way home.

When the bleeding would not stop, he made his way to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was treated and released.
