Meet this years Hattie Brown recipient, Roy Leffingwell. A lifelong resident of Bristol, Leffingwell began volunteering as a single dad of two kids, Bryan and Shana. Anything from baseball, to softball, to boy scouts and girl scouts, even cheerleading at one point.
Most parents stop volunteering when their kids age out but Leffingwell couldn't just leave all the other kids behind. So now for over 25 years, Leffingwell has been volunteering his time in the community.
He marches in the parade every year as a member of the Bristol Train of Artillery but this year he will have his own special spot on the route.
