A Providence Public School substitute teacher is on administrative leave after allegations that he raped a former student he taught in Attleboro Public Schools.

Christopher Defraga is on paid administrative leave after Attleboro Police charged him with rape.

Police say Defraga started a sexual relationship with a student back in 2008 when he was a science teacher at Attleboro High School. Despite what was called a consensual relation the victim told police that Defraga forced her to have sex with him on occasion.

Defraga told the court that the two recently split and the victim is retaliating against him.

Defraga was employed as a long term substitute teacher at the Providence Career and Technical Academy.
