New Bedford Police are looking for two suspects they believe are responsible for an armed robbery at a local business.

Police say shortly after noon Thursday, two men entered Costa’s Cash Express on Union St. and demanded cash.

The two men reportedly hit the clerk in her face with their gun before fleeing with an unknown amount of money. She suffered a cut to her lip.

Police believe the two suspects then traveled east onto Union St. but may have split up at Pleasant St.

The suspect holding the gun was described as a light-skinned black man about 5’9” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, and black sneakers.

The second suspect was described as a dark-skinned black man, about 5’10” tall with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call New Bedford Detectives at 508-991-6300 ext. 320.
