WARWICK, RI- Nestled at the busy intersection of East Avenue and Bald Hill Road in Warwick, homeless father, Bill Roche has posted his life story on his car; hoping to fulfill a promise to his two teenagers, a 13–year-old daughter, and 16–year-old son who all live out of the car.

"Everyday we go by that home the kids say, Dad, you promised you would buy that home for us, you would bring back home," said Roche.

His wife grew up in the home and their kids were raised there too. Bill's wife lost her battle to cancer in 2011.

He was later diagnosed with kidney cancer and on the day they were evicted, he had the kidney removed.

Bill has been unable to work, and was denied disability benefits several times.

"Thank God that he's still alive. I hope that he can get his house back," said passerby, Mario Ajca.

So from dust til dawn, until Father's Day and possibly longer, he'll be here. And he doesn't care what others think of him.

Roche said, "I'm a proud father sitting here. That's what I am; proud, not ashamed."

“No, definitely not embarrassing; if it's for the kids, that's why a father lives is for the kids," said Warwick resident, Vikrant Donthamsetti.

"There [are] so many people that don't see what goes on in this world because you know we're all comfortable and we have everything. But, this guy has nothing," said Live to Grow owner, Anthony Gerardi.

The owner of Live to Grow, where bill sits outside is giving up that parking space for a week. He hopes Bill will reach his goal.

So far Bill says he's raised $150.

The store is hosting a surprise fundraiser on Monday. The owner is collecting donations all day that will go to the family.
