Community College of Rhode Island will receive a $2.5 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration on Monday morning.

Members of Rhode Island's congressional delegation and state leaders will join the college at 11 AM on the Knight Campus for the announcement.

The grant will help CCRI create new pathways and opportunities in advanced manufacturing, an industry that is expected to grow in Rhode Island over the next 10 years.

According to the college, the program emphasizes a "learn and earn" model consisting of stackable and latticed credentials that prove opportunities for adult learners to acquire new skills that are linked to industry needs.
