Man arrested in porn store break-in admits to several others

A man accused of breaking into a Providence porn store allegedly admitted to dozens of other break-ins, according to police.

57-year-old Allan Jett was arrested after police responded to a burglar alarm at Amazing Supertstore on

Thurbers Avenue
. When police arrived they observed a black man in a dark coat standing inside the store. When he spotted police he fled the scene, smaching the front door and then fleeing on foot down

. He was apprehended at the intersection of

Allens Avenue
and Thurbers Avenye. He was armed with a crowbar and wearing black gloves and a black ski mask. He was carrying a large laundry bag.

While being transported to the police station, Jett allegedly told police, “I’ve got a problem. I’ve been breaking into a lot of these places. Maybe I can get some help now.”

Police say he later confessed to 18 different incidents in Providence, 5 in South Kingstown, 3 in Narragansett, 2 in Cranston and One in East Providence.
