Underage drinking party in South Kingstown

South Kingstown Police are investigating an underage drinking party that occurred on June 6th, 2014 on Kingstown Road in South Kingstown.

Police responded to reports of a loud party around 11:49 PM.

Upon arriving, officers observed a large crowd of about 40-60 people and described it as a “chaotic” party scene.

Underage people were in possession of alcoholic beverages and alcohol was strewn about the residence.

Officers identified 23 people between the ages of 18 and 20, and stated that some people were trying to lock doors to prevent the police from entering.

The house in which the party took place was a rental property and four of the leaseholders were on scene.

Four people were charged under the state’s Social Hos law and a fifth person was charged with Possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.
