Police in East Greenwich responded to reports of a bomb threat at the Walgreens on Division Street.

Police say the threat was called in by a man with a Middle Eastern accent around 2:20 Tuesday afternoon.

Crews from East Greenwich and Rhode Island State Police searched the area, but found nothing.

The Walgreens, as well as the Dave’s Marketplace, Gold’s Gym, and The Savory Grape in the shopping plaza were evacuated until the scene was confirmed clear around 3:30.

Police say this situation was similar to a bomb scare in Barrington on Monday. The store manager at a Rite-Aid got a call from a man with a heavy Middle Eastern accent who said there was a bomb on the roof and that he needed pre-paid credit card codes immediately.

Nothing was found in that search, and police traced the call back to a phone-based service in Texas.
