Providence voters will get a chance to give hotel workers a minimum wage that starts at $15.

The city council approved a resolution at a special meeting Thursday night that puts the potential raise on the ballot this November.

Hotel workers have pushed the city council to address the issue for the last few months.

If it's passed by voters this fall the $15 minimum wage would only apply to workers at hotels that have more than 25 rooms.
