Woonsocket man arrested for embezzling over $30,000 from his Cranston employer

Members of the State Police Financial Crimes Unit arrested a Providence man for the alleged embezzlement from a Cranston based HVAC company in which he worked.

Jason D. Boudreau, 39, of Woonsocket, was arrested and charged with Embezzlement over $1,500.

The State Police started investigating after receiving a complaint from the owner of an HVAC company where Boudreau was employed as the Controller.

Boudreau utilized his position as Controller to prepare fraudulent payroll journals to obtain unauthorized bonuses totaling $34, 826.11.

He was arraigned and released on $20,000 personal recognizance.

The penalty for the felony of embezzlement over $1,500 is a fine of three times the value of the money or property embezzled, or imprisonment of up to 20 years.
