Casey Kasem, long-time radio broadcaster, passes away at 82

Casey Kasem, radio’s “American Top 40” host of almost four decades, has died at the age of 82.

He passed away around 3 a.m. this morning at St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA.

His daughter, Kerri Kasem, released a statement on her Twitter Account stating that Kasem was surrounded by family and friends.

She states, “Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken. Thank you for all your love, support and prayers. The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad.
