Wareham man found guilty of 2012 murder

Bryan Grassie, 20, of Wareham, was convicted today for Murder in the Second Degree and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon for the July 28th, 2012, murder of Brendan Mahoney.

Grassie was found guilty after a five day jury trial in Brockton Superior Court.

Brendan Mahoney was stabbed to death by the Grassie when Grassie showed up, uninvited, at a graduation party on Priscilla Ave in Wareham.

The defendant was argumentative and confrontational with a number of party-goers before fighting Mahoney and his brother, Brian.

The Mahoney brothers were stabbed a total of 12 times and were not armed with any weapons themselves.

Grassie was sentenced to life imprison on the murder charge and also sentenced to a concurrent sentence of 6-10 years on the Assult and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon charge.
