Pawtucket Animal Control Officer John Holmes confirms that 14 geese were struck on Friday morning on Armistice Boulevard near Slater Park.

Holmes said the incident happened around 11 a.m. when a driving who was heading west on the road near a sharp bend and stuck the geese. All but one goose was killed.

The driver did not stop after striking the animals but continued down the road. Animal Control was unable to find the driver but believe that the birds were struck accidentally.

The surviving goose was released into Slater Park with other geese.
