There’s some refreshing news for kids in Providence this summer.

Mayor Taveras announced a summer packed full of activities, including the opening of splash parks and pools.

The Mayor broke the news to kids Wednesday at Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School. He says along with the five city pools opening on June 30, there will also be volunteers at different parks engaging kids in interactive play and learning.

The Davey Lopes pool will open as well.

Mayor Taveras says, "we’re also going to have activities across the city for our young people, as you can see here but we’ll have water parks we’ll have the pools we have camps we have a lot of positive activities throughout the summer for our kids to keep them busy occupied and healthy."

This inflatable obstacle course will be making its way around Providence, too.
