Tiverton Police ask public for help to ID robbery suspect

Tiverton Police are looking for the help finding a suspect in a armed robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Police say at about 2 p.m. the store clerk at St Angelo Hardwoods on Eagleville Rd. reported a robbery at gunpoint.

They say the suspect went up to the clerk, displayed a handgun and demanded the money in the cash draw.

Police say he then fled north down the wooded paths that are parallel to Route 24.

The suspect is described as being a white male approximately 5’10”-6’1,” weighing 165-185lbs, wearing blue jeans, a gray long sleeve shirt, and a winter hat.

Police are requesting that anyone who observed anything suspicious to please contact the Tiverton Police department (401)625-6717.

Also, anyone who observed vehicles parked on Route 24, Stafford Rd., Eagleville Rd., or the area surrounding Tedeschi Food Mart (between the time of 1:45p.m-2:15p.m), please contact police headquarters.
