PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A Rhode Island man has been sentenced to just over four years in federal prison for trafficking counterfeit sports jerseys, clothing and health products from China.

The office of U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha said Friday that 41-year-old Norman Cipriano of Warwick received a 50-month sentence for trafficking more than 14,500 goods, worth more than $1 million.

Federal agents searched Cipriano's home in September 2012. Authorities say they found thousands of jerseys, clothing and health and beauty aids, including ``a significant quantity'' of counterfeit over-the-counter medications.

Cipriano was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release. The amount to be paid in restitution has not yet been determined.

He pleaded guilty on Aug. 5, 2013, to trafficking in counterfeit goods and services.
