Starting Monday,  the Middle Road Bridge in East Greenwich is closed. It carries Middle Road over Route 4 and will be shut down for about two months. The $2.9 million in repairs being done are part of a statewide bridge rehabilitation project.

The deck, joint, and sidewalks will all be fixed.

The bridge was built in 1969.

Detour routes will be posted using South County Trail, Division Street and Howland Road.
