Providence gas prices are on the rise, average gas prices have risen 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.73 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey.

The national average has also increased 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.68 per gallon.

Yesterday gas prices were 15.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 5.6 cents higher than one month ago.

The national average has increased 4.6 cents per gallon in the last month and is 10.9 cents higher than this day one year ago.

GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan thinks that there are a few different situations that permit monitoring such as Iraq, the Feds (raising gas taxes), and the peak of hurricane season approaching.

Motorists could still be facing higher gas prices later in the summer.
