The Director of Parks and Recreation in Cumberland says the newly renovated Tucker Field will remain locked unless a group has a permit to use it.

Michael Crawley says that the town has decided to put a lock on the track and field after extensive littering, and vandalism to the newly renovated field. The town just recently reopened the field last year after it underwent a $1 million renovation.

In addition to trash and vandalism, Crawley says people are bringing their dogs on the track which is forbidden, and not cleaning up after them.

Crawley says eventually the town plans to install security cameras but until then the field will need to be locked.
