Minutes after hearing several gunshots fired on North Bend Street in Pawtucket, a neighbor who asked not to be identified tells ABC 6 News she saw a naked woman outside her home running for her life.

"I heard the lady screaming in my driveway, help me, he's trying to kill me," said the neighbor.

Police say 43-year-old Robert Amado broke into the Pawtucket home Monday night shooting and killing 45-year-old Timothy Robillard before turning the gun on himself.

In the midst of the chaos, the shooters ex-girlfriend fled the scene running to a neighbors home.

"She said her ex-boyfriend was shooting at them,” said the neighbor. “The police asked her did anybody get shot. She said, ‘yeah my boyfriend, he's screaming, he's screaming. And then he tried to come after me. He grabbed me by my hair he was pulling my hair."

The neighbor called 911 and also gave the woman some clothing so she could cover up.

"She was very scared,” said the neighbor. “She was scared for her life. She wouldn't come back out of the house. She was scared that even though the guy had shot himself, she was scared that he was going to still get her."

Police say the relationship between the shooter and ex girlfriend did end recently.

Investigators are working to determine whether there is a history of domestic violence.
