Providence Police, family, and city officials gathered Friday to honor a fallen officer.

The entryway street that leads to the District 6 substation was dedicated in memory of Officer John Reposa, Jr. He was off-duty when he was killed in a motorcycle accident last August.

Mayor Angel Taveras says, “This loss of Johnny was especially hard on the men and women on our Police Department. He was known as ‘all-city-John’ because he was all over the city and was never too busy to help someone.”

Reposa was on the police force for 19 years.
