Warwick man arrested for DUI, striking a State Trooper

Rhode Island State Troopers arrested a man for DUI and multiple other charges, including obstructing a police officer.

Around 2 AM on Saturday, Justin Tallo, 24, of Grocus Street in Warwick, was stopped by Troopers on Reservoir Ave in Cranston.

Upon being stopped Tallo sped away, striking the Trooper with his vehicle.  He was located minutes later in the area after fleeing from the vehicle.

The Trooper struck by the vehicle was not injured.

Tallo, who had been arrested for DUI previously in 2013, was charged with (1) assault with a deadly weapon, (2) driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor/drugs, (3) obstructing a police officer (4) eluding a police officer motor vehicle, (5) operating on a suspended license, (6) reckless driving.

He was held overnight and is pending a morning arraignment.
