A Central Falls man was arrested for DUI with his 4-year-old child in the vehicle.

On July 5th around 10 PM, Central Falls Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and found Aramis Aviles, 29, of Central Falls, intoxicated behind the wheel.

Aviles’ 4-year-old son was in the back seat and not properly restrained in the rear seat of the vehicle.

Aviles failed a series of field sobriety tests at the scene and placed under arrest. He submitted a breath test that resulted in a blood alcohol content reading of .111% and .113%.

He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and/or drugs and issued a summons for multiple traffic violations including no seatbelt—operator and child passenger restraint, and presence of an alcoholic beverage.

He had a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for failure to appear for payment review on the charge of DUI.

Aviles was held overnight and unable to post bail. He is scheduled to appear at 6th District Court in Friday, July 11, 2014 for re-arraignment.

The 4-year-old child was released to a family member and the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families was notified.
