New Bedford
beaches that had been closed due to high bacteria counts will reopen Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. according to Massachusetts Health Officials.

The West Beach, East Beach, and Fort Taber Beach has been closed since the heavy rains of Hurricane Arthur overwhelmed the sewage system causing high bacteria counts.

As of Tuesday the beaches were deemed safe and are once again allowed to reopen.
