Amajor donation goes to the Rhode Island free clinic from a New England businessman.

Ernie Boch Jr. gave the clinic a $25,000 gift at the state house Tuesday morning on behalf of his company Subaru of New England.

The money will be used to enhance the free clinic's mission to provide free medical care to adults who have no health insurance.

It's estimated that amount will provide health care between 100 and 150 uninsured adults.

"I would like to encourage all the businesses in Rhode Island to help to free clinic with all the great work that they are doing," Boch said.

Boch allowed Governor Chafee to choose which local charity his money would go towards.

Chafee and his wife Stephanie picked the free clinic.
