LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - The Cambodian immigrant community is banding together to help the survivors of a devastating fire that killed seven people outside Boston.

Among those killed in an apartment building fire in Lowell on Thursday were three children and their parents, part of a large Cambodian family.

Lowell has the second-largest Cambodian population in the U.S. The city is home to dozens of Cambodian restaurants, markets and other small businesses.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday. The Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association has set up a fundraising campaign on crowd-funding website gofundme.com. And scores of volunteers have donated food, clothing, blankets and other household items for more than 40 people who escaped the fire. The vast majority of those are Cambodians.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
