Kinnian Hammod-Dowie, a 12 year old Pawtucket resident, is headed to the White House for Michelle Obamas “Kid’s State Dinner”.

His winning recipe, “Mediterranean Kebab Wrap with Cilantro Tabbouleh”, won him a trip to Washington as the Rhode Island winner of Obama’s Healthy Lunchtime Challenge contest.

Kinnan was congratulated by Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien and top brass from the Fire and Police departments. A huge fan of law enforcement, Kinnan was especially excited about receiving the Key to the City and a model police cruiser.

“Have a good experience and come back and tell us,” said Mayor Grebien after letting the young chef know how proud everyone was of him.

The July 18th White House luncheon will feature winning recipes from winners throughout the country and US territories, and a trip to the White House garden. Kinnan will be accompanied by his parents, and thanks them for letting him use the kitchen for a week to perfect his recipe.
