Barrington man arrested in connection with marijuana grow operation

A repeat drug offender from Rhode Island has turned himself in after being charged with running a marijuana grow operation out of a Stoneham, Mass. apartment building.

35-year-old Jason D’Anna, Jr., of Barrington, has been charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and distribution of a class D substance.

The Stoneham apartment building caught fire in June, which is when fire officials discovered the sophisticated operation and more than 400 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, that were removed as evidence. 

If convicted, he faces up to 2.5 years in prison for each charge. 

D’Anna will be arraigned on Friday, July 18 in Woburn District Court.
