Warren to address liberal activists in Detroit

Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (AP) - Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is preparing to address liberal activists at their conference in Detroit.

Warren has repeatedly denied interest in running for president in 2016, but she's a hero of many of the Democratic Party's economic populists.

She rails against high student loan debt and "too-big-to-fail" banks. She's also in town to raise money for Democrat Gary Peters, who is running for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat.

Hillary Rodham Clinton dominates early 2016 polls and is considering a second run for the presidency. Vice President Joe Biden addressed the Netroots Nation conference on Thursday.
