A convicted sex offender pleaded not guilty before a judge Thursday morning, accused of assaulting a young girl. The Bristol man allegedly inappropriately touched the 10-year-old who was swimming at an East Providence pool last week.

Police say Raymond Dubord, 63, was in the pool at HealthTrax with the girl last Friday. The girl told her grandmother that Dubord tried to talk to her, swam up to her, and touched her. Shortly after the incident the man allegedly approached the girl a second time.
"In the girl's own words, she felt disgusted by it, and she felt disturbed by the fact that when the gentleman saw her, he put his index finger to his lips, as if to say, don't say anything, that's how she took it ," said Lt. Armen Garo of the East Providence Police Department.

Dubord is a convicted sex offender. In 1993 he was charged with first degree child molestation and second degree sexual assault. Back then he plead no contest.

Dubord is being charged with misdemeanor sexual assault.
