More than a hundred people hit the road today to help raise money for cancer.

"Ride Round Rhody" is an annual event held at Bryant University where cyclists ride up to 75-miles for this amazing cause.

The event is sponsored by "Life-Cycle" Inc. a Rhode Island based non-profit and over the last six years the event has helped raised more than $280,000.

"Everyone has been touched by somebody in their family with cancer and we must never forget it and their slogan is: until there is a cure, everyone must fight to find it," said Volunteer Donna Weiss.

All the money raised will go to cancer care and research at Rhode Island Hospital, Miriam, Hasbro and women and infants.
