A RIPTA bus driver is facing charges for road rage after an incident involving a woman in her car using her cell phone.

Police say 57-year-old Edward Howell of Tiverton confronted a driver who was using her cell phone in her car.

They say he tried to open her car door and pounded on the car roof.

Officers say he was calling her an idiot, like the driver who hit and injured his nephew.

Howell is charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct.

He was put on administrative leave.
