A man accused of sex trafficking a 15-year-old girl in September was arrested by Warwick Police on Tuesday.

Police say the investigation began when Warwick Police pulled over the 26-year-old man traveling with the teenager on September 14.

Due to the suspicious nature of the circumstances police contacted the teenager's mother who did not know the man she was with. Police brought her home to the custody of her mother.

The Warwick Police Department then began a sex trafficking investigation after speaking to the teenager and her mother.

As a result a warrant was issued for the arrested of Carlos Brens,26, of Providence. He is charges with sex trafficking a minor, 2 count of first degree sexual assault and one count of third degree sexual assault.

He was arrested by Rhode Island State Police on October 28 and turned over to Warwick Police Department.
