WARWICK, R.I. (AP) _ Officials in Warwick say a condominium building destroyed in a fire this week was in compliance with state fire regulations.
The Wednesday morning fire at the Westgate complex displaced about 100 residents. No one was hurt.
Mayor Scott Avedisian tells ABC6 the 40-year-old, 3-story building had a working fire alarm and no outstanding violations.
The Warwick Building Department said the structure had no record of outstanding building code violations or deficiencies.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, and the cause of low water pressure and inoperable fire hydrants that slowed firefighters' response.
