PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A Providence student is in the running to win $400,000 in prizes for a science video he made.

17-year-old Owen Cuseo beat out 6000 other applicants, and is now a finalist in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge global science video contest.

The finalists’ videos are up on Facebook, and the general public is invited to vote for the people’s choice winner between now and November 9th, 2016.

The students were challenged to create engaging, imaginative and often humorous videos to demonstrate scientific concepts and theories in physical or life sciences.
